#3 Carpenter Ants
When the sun comes out, carpenter ants seek food and shelter. Because of how they move, it is possible for them to overtake your home before you even realize they have arrived. Carpenter ants make colonies in walls which results in structural damage to homes and businesses. They are willing to travel far from their nests to find food so you may notice rustling sounds within your walls or even piles of wood shavings underneath wooden items. They excavate wet fungus damaged areas to set their colonies up in the wood. If there is a colony in a structure it will typically be in direct correlation to a moisture issue.
